Cyberstalking & Harassment

Increasing numbers of individuals and businesses experience problems with cyberstalking or harassment on the internet, in their home or at work. Cyberstalking is a growing problem which has become widespread with the increasing use of social media websites. More than ever before there is scope for cyberstalkers to make unwanted contact with victims. It is not uncommon for the victim to know little or nothing about who the stalker is or where they live.

Cyberstalking and harassment can be a devastating problem for individuals but also companies, institutions and educational establishments. We can provide tailored advice for individuals and institutions on how to deal with these crimes, including where necessary, swift use of civil legal proceedings against the perpetrator or correspondence to get the stalker to cease their actions. If necessary we can seek an Order for disclosure of the stalker’s identity and contact details from the social media website or service provider where the abuse occurs.

We advise on the following issues:

  • Problem posting and abusive/derogatory comments about victims on social networking websites;

  • Persistant and/or abusive texts and emails to victims;

  • Unwanted attention from stalkers be it cyberstalking or physical stalking;

  • Removal of unwanted material and comments from websites;

  • Work or education related bullying and harassment;

  • Unauthorised use of video or telephone materials.

Whether the cyber stalking is in the context of a previous domestic relationship which has come to an end or whether it involves someone less familiar to the victim, we can provide the tailored advice and legal support to assist.

We partner with law enforcement agencies to ensure that cyberstalkers are apprehended and prosecuted. Together we can therefore provide an unrivalled service in dealing with the prevention of cyberstalking and harassment.

Disputes Regarding Goods and Services

We can advise you regarding disputes over the supply of goods and services with a view to achieving your goal. You may want to return goods which are not fit for purpose and you may have found that the seller is unwilling to accept return of those goods.

We can help make that process less stressful and advise you on your options for resolving the dispute. Whether it relates to a high street sale, a purchase from a dealership or manufacturer, an internet auction website, a loan agreement or internet loan site or a private seller, we can advise you on your rights under consumer law and prepare a plan with you to succeed with your case.

Increasing consumer awareness has meant that most of us are now more aware of our rights. Many people know that the goods should match their description and be of satisfactory quality. There are however many pitfalls in contract disputes which mean that if you do not take appropriate action at the correct time, you could jeopardise your claim.

If you would like to come and see us to discuss an issue you have please contact DML Legal Services  and we can arrange an appointment.

Disputes With Tradesmen

We frequently advise on cases where our clients have experienced problems with a tradesman and the work which the tradesman has undertaken for them. Dealing with builders, plumbers, window fitters and other tradesmen can bring its own unique set of challenges and it is not always easy for a customer to question their approach until it is too late.

If the work which has been done is defective and it is creating further problems for you, it can be very stressful dealing with the tradesman to try to compensate you for the cost of putting right the work. Often once the job has finished, it can be difficult resolving any dispute over whether work was done properly.

From taking your detailed instructions, to letters before action and attending court on your behalf if required DML Legal Services provide a full and effective solution to resolving your problem.

Residential Property Disputes

We can advise on a broad range of property disputes relating to residential properties and provide you with clear advice to guide you through what can be a difficult and stressful process. Disputes with neighbours or others, whether regarding boundaries, rights over the shared driveway, rights of access over other land or breach of covenants are always difficult for a home owner. We aim to take that pressure off you and to assist you with making key decisions to see that a successful outcome is secured and where possible with a view to salvaging relations with your neighbours.

Whether proceedings are being brought in the courts or any tribunal we can provide on hand advice to assist you with defending proceedings which are served on you or commencing claims to seek an appropriate remedy, although we would only commence court action once efforts had been made to resolve the claim first.
